Welcome to Pet ICU, Underwood

Though the smallest of Animal Emergency Australia teams at just 25 team members, Pet ICU makes an incredible impact on the lives of critically ill patients, practicing ground-breaking medicine to bring home the sickest of pets.

Pet ICU is a purpose-built animal intensive care unit and is one of the only stand-alone dedicated animal ICUs in the country, and in addition, they also run their own blood bank program to administer life-saving transfusions.

Working in Underwood you’ll be close to the CBD at just a 30-minute drive, where you’ll find some of the best cafes, pubs, and attractions. You’ll also have the flexibility of planning your lifestyle around work to get the best out of your days.

If you’re not a city explorer, take note – because you’re only 30 minutes away from some of the best beaches in Australia! Explore Surfers Paradise, Miami, and take a stroll up Burleigh Hill to do some whale watching.

Some of the ground-breaking medicine you’ll get to practice includes critical care and monitoring, nutritional support, oxygen therapy, life support (mechanical ventilation), pain management, blood and plasma transfusions, and post-operative care.

In Pet ICU you’ll get to know your patients very well, and their owners too. You’ll be caring for domestic animals and giving them a second chance at life, and your care will be crucial to their survival.

It’s not all work – we enjoy playing together too! We recently took the team to Tangalooma Island where we all relaxed for the day with some drinks, lunch, and activities on the beach.

Get in touch with us today for a tour around the hospital and to see if this is the right place for you.
