AES Hawthorn's Open Hospital Concept

Animal Emergency Australia (AEA) is pleased to announce an important milestone in the growth of its national emergency veterinary network, with Perth Vet Emergency (PVE) transitioning to the Animal Emergency Service (AES) name from 6 October 2026.

The transition brings AEA's Western Australian emergency hospitals under a shared national identity, aligning them with Animal Emergency Service hospitals operating across Australia while preserving the local expertise, relationships and reputation built by Perth Vet Emergency over many years.

The change coincides with the relocation of PVE Yokine to a new purpose-built emergency and critical care hospital in Osborne Park, representing a significant investment in the future of veterinary emergency care in Western Australia.

Building a Stronger National Network

Perth Vet Emergency has been part of the Animal Emergency Australia family for many years, providing trusted emergency and critical care services to pets across Western Australia.

As AEA continues to grow its network of hospitals, education and support services, adopting a shared emergency hospital name helps strengthen awareness of emergency veterinary care while providing greater consistency across locations, teams and communities.

This transition reflects the reality of how our teams already work today, sharing knowledge, resources and expertise across hospitals while remaining committed to delivering outstanding local care.

Expanding Access to Emergency Care in Western Australia

From 6 October, emergency veterinary care in Perth will be available through:

The opening of the new Osborne Park hospital is a significant milestone for AEA and will provide Perth pet owners with access to a purpose-built facility designed specifically for emergency and critical care services.

Together, these hospitals will strengthen access to emergency veterinary care across the Perth metropolitan area while supporting the growing demand for emergency and critical care services.

Building on the Legacy of Perth Vet Emergency

While the hospital name is changing, the experience, expertise and reputation built by Perth Vet Emergency remain an important part of AEA's story.

The transition recognises the contribution of the teams who have built and grown PVE into one of Western Australia's most respected emergency veterinary providers. Their commitment to patient care, client support and clinical excellence will continue under the Animal Emergency Service name.

This is not about leaving that history behind. It is about building on a strong foundation and creating greater alignment across AEA's emergency network for the future.

A New Chapter for Emergency Care in Perth

The transition of Perth Vet Emergency to Animal Emergency Service marks an exciting new chapter for Animal Emergency Australia.

As we continue to invest in hospitals, people, education and innovation, our focus remains unchanged: supporting veterinary teams and delivering exceptional emergency and critical care outcomes for pets and their families.

We are proud to welcome AES Osborne Park and AES Cannington into the Animal Emergency Service network and look forward to continuing to support the Western Australian community for many years to come.

From 6 October 2026, Perth Vet Emergency will begin transitioning to the Animal Emergency Service name, creating a stronger and more connected national emergency veterinary network while maintaining the trusted local care that Western Australian pet owners and referring veterinarians know and value.
