Inspiring the Next Generation of Emergency Vets at UQ Gatton

Estimated Reading Time: 1 min | Last Updated:

On Wednesday, 28th May, Dr Ella Ponsi, Veterinary Technician Annabelle Lennox, and Dr Michele Rebelo visited UQ Gatton for a dynamic CPR training session, hosted by AES Underwood team members and 4th-year vet student Grace Schultz, in collaboration with the UQ VECCS Special Interest Group.

The session brought together a passionate group of 1st and 4th-year veterinary students eager to deepen their knowledge of emergency medicine. Dr Ella Ponsi delivered an engaging and insightful presentation on CPR, following the internationally recognised RECOVER guidelines.

The workshop was a resounding success. Students described the experience as both highly educational and genuinely enjoyable, while gaining a deeper appreciation of the critical importance of delivering high-quality patient care—even in the most intense, life-or-death scenarios.
